This day marks the beginning of a journey that has been 5 months in the making. While it feels like so long ago that the dream of Shula was conceived, it is amazing to look back on the brevity with which this dream was brought from conception to birth.
High school was the first time an interest toward entrepreneurship was sparked in my heart. I imagined opening a book publishing firm, running a dance studio, creating an ethical clothing line, being a photographer, and so many other things. However, as the years went on, I disqualified myself from the ranks of those who own their own businesses. Partly it was due to business calculus which was the bane of my existence Freshman year of college. Mostly it was due to the belief that “I don’t have what it takes.”
It was actually a prophetic word that shook the grip of that lie off of me in the summer of 2022. I was told that it was time to pick up dreams from 10 years ago that I had laid down. As I pondered where I was a decade ago, it became clear that this was the time I had a passionate entrepreneurial spirit before I let doubt and fear have a voice. And I’ll be honest, I felt the conviction to repent for speaking death to those dreams and to the gifts God was showing me He Himself placed inside of me.
Even though I now had renewed confidence in the call toward entrepreneurship, I still had no direction for what God was leading me to, or even what I wanted to do. One day, I got a phone call from my dad out of the blue. He said he had been up in the early hours of the night and felt a strong sense that we were meant to start a family business. One by one, as we proposed this to other family members, everyone not only said yes but felt much excitement and momentum. But we still had no vision for what the business could or should be. We threw out so many ideas, yet nothing seemed to fit within the passion we were feeling. When we finally landed on natural herbal products, a fresh wave of synergy and clarity came to our family. We could feel the peace of God and the prompting that we were heading in a good direction. This combined with dissatisfaction with the natural beauty products industry as a whole led us to pursuing the idea of creating products which were truly natural, high quality, effective, and intentional with the ingredients used. Months of experimentation, preparation, and building now finds us here, at the start of bringing natural products to your home. Thank you for joining us on this journey!
Brianna, your youthful dream of being an entrepreneur was never impossible. The dream was "on hold" and I am more than delighted and grateful the desire to create your own business finally awakened and triggered your spirit of entrepreneurship. You put your trust on the Lord and by his grace you will carry on.
